VIKING

I’M GLAD Summer is on board with starting a relationship. I hope she can talk to me about what drove her to that bridge with time. I know what happened to her, but I think there is more there and want her to open up to me. When I got out of the service, my PTSD caused me some of the same issues of not wanting to continue in this life but finding the Devil’s House saved me, the brotherhood and ability to be what the military made me, a killer. Summer will never see that side of the club. Old ladies never do.

I’m trying to focus on showing her the club, but after having her shoved against that wall in my office, I would rather do other things with Summer. So, after giving her a tour, I took a seat on the raised floor area of the club where I could keep watch. I pulled her to sit on my lap; she yelped in surprise, “What are you doing? I’m too heavy to be on your lap.”

“Is that an insult, redbird? You take me for a weakling who can’t handle his woman?” I joked, pretending to be insulted.

“No, I’m just bigger than the average woman.”

“That’s right; you’re not average; you’re perfect. Who wants average?” I said, making that creamy skin turn pink.

“I’ve never known anyone like you; with you, I feel normal.”

Before I could comment on that, Camille, one of the waitresses, came up beside us, leaning down to show her tits overflowing, I allow the tight t-shirts because the girls get bigger tips that way, but I hated when they just assumed every man wanted a look at their tits. I learned long ago I'm a different breed. The more a woman pushed herself on me, the more I didn’t want her. Desperate bitches weren’t my thing, not even for a quick fuck. I always envisioned having a woman with a demeanor like my mom, who was sweet, caring, and loyal to a fault. I felt that with Summer.

Giving Camille one of the icy stares I’m known for, she straightened, “Can I get you guys some drinks, boss?”

“A beer for me; what about you, Summer?”

“Can I just have a coke?”

“Sure, be back in a minute,” Camille said, going to get the drinks, returning with them minutes later.

“It seems really busy for a Wednesday night,” Summer said.

“This is normal. Friday and Saturday are our biggest nights, and it becomes a crush in here. But this is my baby. I worked hard the last couple of years to make it a success.”

“It shows. It’s popular; the nurses at the hospital talk about coming here all the time.”

“Hey Viking, can I talk to you a sec?” Reader said, walking up.

“Go ahead; I need to use the restroom,” Summer said, getting up.

“Okay, I will be here when you get back.”
